Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, we will begin a walking sightseeing tour of Yerevan, the capital of the Republic of Armenia, with a history dating back to 782 BC. A Yerevan is situated in a lowland area enclosed by hills and offers views of the Ararat plain, where Mount Ararat with its eternal snows rises.
The Yerevan Panoramic City Tour includes visits to the Opera House, Swan Lake, Northern Avenue, Abovyan Street with its “Armenian Belle Epoque” houses, and the Cascade complex, a large staircase with terraced gardens.
Enjoy the city view from the top of the Cascade. Continue with a walk through Vernissage, the arts and crafts market, to explore works by local craftsmen, such as stone and wooden crosses, handmade cloth dolls, ceramic plates, and Armenian rugs. You can also find silver and gold jewelry, embroidery, books, and paintings by Armenian artists.
Spend the rest of the day exploring the city at your own pace. Visit museums, shop, or taste local specialties. Stay overnight at a hotel in Yerevan.
LANDSCAPE CONTRAST WITH GARNI TEMPLE AND GEGHARD CAVE MONASTERY (UNESCO).
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we will visit the village of Garni. On the way, there is a simple arch installed in honor of the great Armenian poet Yeghishe Charents, who admired the beauty of Mount Ararat. From the arch, you will enjoy one of the best views of Mount Ararat.
We will explore the fortress and temple of Garni, a Hellenistic period landmark located atop a triangular hill, constructed in 77 AD. Next, we will visit the 13th-century Ghegardavank, the only rock-carved monastery in Armenia, named after the relic of the spear fragment that pierced Christ’s side on the cross. In the evening, we will return to Yerevan and visit Victory Park, home to the “Mother Armenia” statue, offering breathtaking views of the city.
Victory Park features an artificial lake, amusement rides, outdoor cafes, restaurants, the Mother Armenia Monument, and the Mother Armenia Museum. Later, enjoy free time at the dried fruit and spices market, filled with vibrant shades and captivating scents. Stay overnight in Yerevan.
TSAGHKADZOR, LAKE SEVAN-PEARL OF ARMENIA AND DILIJAN NATIONAL
After breakfast we will drive to Lake Sevan – the pearl of Armenia and one of the biggest high-altitude lakes in the world. From the peninsula of Sevan, there is also a beautiful view of the lake, so we will visit the peninsula. The lake Sevan is also known also for the endemic fish type Sevan trout, Salmo Ishkhan. We will move further towards the town Diligian – the “Armenian Switzerland”, and will cover the Sharabeyan street, the street of the craftsmen of the city.
This is a beautiful town of nature and architecture that is quite old and picturesque. In this case, the most noticeable here are the monuments of architecture that have various forms of construction and belong to the 10th-13th centuries: We will also visit here Haghartsin monastery.
It stands in a beautiful forested valley. Next, we will visit Tsaghkadzor ski resort and ascend Teghenis Mountain by cable ride, which offers an excellent view of the entire Tsaghkadzor town.
